Xiaomi CEO Reveals When SU7 Electric Car Will Launch Internationally

Pictures of the Xiaomi SU7 have appeared on Paris, France's streets. The car is on display at Xiaomi's special exhibition, "People, Cars, and Homes Full Ecology," which coincides with the Paris Olympics and has drawn a lot of interest from tourists from across the world.

There has been conjecture over Xiaomi's possible entry into the European market following the SU7's sighting in Paris. Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, responded by saying in a live broadcast that the business wants to sell automobiles in Europe by 2030.

Although SU7 is not authorized for sale abroad, dealers are able to earn handsomely from the strong demand for the product thanks to gray market routes in several nations.

Hoping to Become One of the World's Top 5 Automakers

In his broadcast, Lei Jun reaffirmed Xiaomi's objective of being one of the top five automakers in the world, hinting at ambitions to go global when the time is appropriate. More than 50% of Xiaomi's entire revenue in the first quarter of 2024 came from sales of smartphones, which made up more than 70% of the company's overall revenue.

The Xiaomi SU7 has captured the interest of people all around the world, as seen by its exhibit at the Pompidou Museum Block in Paris. Earlier this year, at MWC 2024, a significant mobile systems industry event held in Barcelona, Spain, the automobile made its world premiere.

Gray Market Accessibility

Even though Xiaomi does not formally sell the SU7, unofficial export businesses have discovered a profitable market.

These dealers buy the cars from other nations and resale them as used cars, reportedly making between $1,400 and $8,250 each vehicle.
