We provide your dream car on finger tips
The fifth-generation Odyssey is mostly unaltered for 2022 after being released for 2018 and receiving a mild mid-cycle facelift for 2021. It competes against the Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager, the Kia Sedona, and the newly redesigned Toyota Sienna in a decreasing minivan category. For families, The Odyssey makes a lot of sense. In a First Test of the 2018 car and a test of the face-lifted 2021 model, we applauded its intelligent feature content; features like the Cabin Watch back-seat monitoring and the Cabin Talk intercom system will be greatly welcomed by drivers hauling a group of children. Should you ever be involved in an accident, the Odyssey's superb safety ratings will come in handy.
The Odyssey has a lot of interior room, which you'd expect from a minivan. It continues to be a strong competitor for the Toyota Sienna due to its spaciousness and clever internal packaging. It's also a solid performer. The ride quality is consistent, allowing for surprisingly agile maneuverability. The base V-6 engine has plenty of oomph, and the 10-speed automatic transmission downshifts quickly and shifts smoothly. Honda, on the other hand, does not provide hybrid or all-wheel-drive models to contend with Chrysler and Toyota.
The pre-refresh Odyssey lost a two-way comparison to the Chrysler Pacifica, which had a modest advantage because to its superior ride, innovative Stow 'n Go seats, and excellent back seat entertainment system. Honda's seats adjust fore-and-aft and side-to-side, but they're a pain to remove because they're so heavy. However, since we last compared the Odyssey against the Pacifica, Honda has made significant modifications to the minivan as part of a 2021 face-lift, including new standard safety technology and standard second-row seats that fold nearly flat. The Odyssey's superb powertrain and quick third-row access garnered accolades in a recent four-car minivan comparison, but the Odyssey's outmoded infotainment system and complicated thirdrow folding stopped it just shy of first place.
The front appearance is somewhat more aggressive, and the side profile is attractive, thanks to the new blackout grille and chrome strip. The base model has 18-inch wheels, while the top-ofthe-line variants have 19-inch alloys that neatly fill the arches. LED headlights and daytime running lights are standard on all models, with LED fog lights starting with the EX. From the EX trim level up, power sliding doors are standard, while the EX-L trim level up adds a one-touch power sunroof and a power tailgate.
As a minivan, we anticipate the Honda Odyssey to have proportions that are suitable for transporting a big family. It has a wheelbase of 118.1 inches, which is just two inches shorter than the biggest family SUVs on the market in the United States. There's very little overhang in the front, but enough in the back, where you want it. The smallest LX model stands at 68.3 inches, while the remainder of the lineup stands at 69.6 inches. The width of all versions is 78.5 inches. The LX trim is the lightest of the bunch, weighing 4,398 pounds, while the Elite trim is the heaviest, at 4,603 pounds.
With it's own vastness, convenience, and high-quality materials, the Odyssey's cabin invites your family in. The LX has a seating capacity of seven people, whereas the other trims have a seating capacity of eight. You may remove the middle seat and shift any outboard seat to the middle with the available Magic Slide 2nd-row seats. Passengers will have an easier time getting into and out of the third row as a result of this. In addition, travelers and car seats in the second row are easily accessible from the front row. The 60/40 split 3rd-row Magic Seat may be folded down on one or both sides for more cargo room.
You can put goods up to eight feet long and four feet broad in the second and third rows when all of the seats are folded down or removed. Heated front seats are standard on EX and higher levels, and leather-trimmed seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel are standard on EX-L and higher models. On the Elite level, the front seats are additionally ventilated. A one-touch power moonroof is available on EX-L and higher grades. Beige or gray cloth, gray or mocha leather, and gray or black perforated leather are among the seat color and fabric possibilities.
The new Odyssey, unlike previous minivans, does not skimp on performance. It has a powerful V6 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Each model has a power output of 280 horsepower and torque of 262 lb.-ft. The electronic gear selector is quite useful since it allows you to convert from park to drive with a single button press. You may enhance your fuel efficiency on each drive in one of three ways: using the idle-stop technology, the Eco Assist system, or the ECON driving mode. While you're at a stop sign or idle for a long time, the idle-stop function switches off your engine to save petrol. The Eco Assistance technology aids in the development and maintenance of fuel-saving driving habits. ECON mode, on the other hand, modifies several aspects of your vehicle's performance to help you save petrol. This minivan also features a Snow mode, which is really useful in the winter. When you're driving in snow, sleet, or ice, it adjusts your throttle, gearbox, and brakes so your tires don't lock up.
Every new Odyssey comes standard with Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistive technologies. A Collision Mitigation Regenerative Braking, a sign recognition system, frontal collision alert, lane departure alerting, adaptive cruise management, a rear seat reminders, and other features are available. On EX and higher trims, a blind spot warning technology with oncoming cars sensor is also included.
A multi-angle rearview monitor, Stability Control Assistance with traction management, and an anti-lock brake mechanism are among the additional standard safety features. Braking system, a tire pressure tracking system with tire fill help and location, and LED daytime adaptive headlights are standard on all trims. This minivan will keep you and your family members safe on the road.
