To relieve traffic congestion, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has chosen to construct the 7.8-kilometer-long Bhara Kahu Bypass. It has built a sign on the site announcing that the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) is the service provider for the building work and will provide project information later. The tiny section of Bhara Kahu on Murree Road has long been a source of anxiety for motorists. On weekends, when people from the twin cities and other parts of the nation throng to Murree, it takes them a long time. Massive traffic bottlenecks on major highways cause traffic congestion on other roadways.
The roads are well-maintained, but the authorities in charge have been unable to cope with the recent increase in the number of motorists. The absence of public transit is also a concern, since the majority of people rely on personal automobiles and motorbikes, which add to traffic congestion.
One of the most harmful consequences of this situation is the pollution of the environment, since automobiles delayed in traffic produce a significant quantity of toxic carbon monoxide in addition to contaminating the environment.
According to an official, the proposal for the Bhara Kahu Bypass was given during the PMLN-led government's mandate, which had started construction on it.
"The project piqued the interest of the Nawaz-led administration at first, but it was later postponed for undisclosed reasons." Ali Nawaz Awan of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) " made an attempt to get it out of the cold room," he said.
He stated that "the project would substantially assist fix traffic troubles since motorists encounter huge challenges, especially on the major route of Bhara Kahu," highlighting the benefits of the Bhara Kahu Bypass.
