For the last six years, Malaysians have been able to purchase the current generation of Proton Saga. The mid-cycle makeover for the mini-sedan will include certain enhancements.
Before Perodua Bezza dethroned it last year, Saga was Malaysia's best-selling vehicle for a long period. Proton is attempting to reclaim market share by improving the cheapest sedan significantly.
According to reports, the car would be powered by the same 1298cc 4-cylinder petrol engine used in Pakistan, which produces 95 horsepower and 120 Newton-meters of torque. Saga initially had a 1332cc engine in Malaysia, therefore this is a little smaller engine. Thankfully, the power output remains the same.
A 5-speed manual transmission will be standard on the Standard trim level. Although prior rumors stated that the new Standard Auto and ACE Auto will include a CVT automatic transmission, the newest report claims that the 4-speed automatic transmission would remain the same.
The following are the enhancements included in the facelift:
Dual front airbags, ISO Fix Child Seat Anchors, a seven-inch Smart Infotainment System, an anti-lock braking system, DRLs, stability control, traction control, parking sensors, and a rear camera are among the features that have been carried over. According to reports, the new Malaysian Saga will premiere in May 2022.
Pakistan, ironically, already possesses the new and upgraded Proton Saga model. People have lost interest in Al-Haj Automotive as a result of the brand's slow manufacturing and availability. The Proton range has a lot of potential for success in Pakistan. This, however, necessitates the company's activities to be sped up in order to keep up with the competition.
