Pak Suzuki Alto has set yet another sales record since its launch in June 2019, with the most monthly bookings ever. The 660cc kei automobile sold 9,814 units in March 2022, breaking the previous sales record of 9,195 units established in December 2021.
The 8th generation Alto continues to have a commanding and undisputed position in the market as the country's best-selling automobile. Not only are the 9,184 units the highest-ever for the Alto, but they are also the highest-ever for any Pak Suzuki model and any locally produced car in Pakistan. This is also three times the monthly sales of the Suzuki Mehran, demonstrating once again that newer, more fuel-efficient automobiles will benefit the corporation more than dragging old, outmoded models for a long time.
The Alto has already broken Suzuki's monthly sales record for an individual model many times since its inception. Mehran's highest-ever monthly sales total was 4,684 units, but the Alto has already surpassed that amount many times, selling 4,924 units in September 2019 and 6,110 units in July 2021.
Pak Suzuki sold 15,100 Altos in March 2022, thanks to the Alto. This is the company's third time breaking the 15-thousand-unit-per-month sales barrier in the previous seven months. Pak Suzuki has sold 53,241 Altos in the first nine months of current fiscal year, or 5,915 units each month. The popular kei car is on track to surpass 60,000 sales in a year for the first time in the country, a first for any locally produced vehicle.
Pak Suzuki has set another another record with the Alto, which has sold 100,000 copies in just two years and seven months. In Pakistan, 123,535 units of the 8th generation Alto have been sold since its debut.
The Alto is praised for its fuel economy and the fact that it is the least priced domestically made mass produced automobile, despite its somewhat compromising appearance and a somewhat higher price tag for a 660cc car. With major manufacturers such as Honda and Toyota refusing to enter the small vehicle sector despite having some very excellent kei cars in its lineup, the esplanade appears to be free for Pak Suzuki Alto to sail through.
