Peugeot Revamps the E-Rifter: A Fresh Look

Peugeot has given a facelift to the E-Rifter, presenting a sleeker and more efficient compact van with new interior gadgets. The E-Rifter now comes in three sizes: Allure, Emotion, and Excellence. The latter two versions offer seating for five or seven people, and there's even an option for an extended version. The standard E-Rifter measures 4.4 meters long, while the E-Rifter Long stretches to 4.7 meters, providing a lengthier wheelbase and overhang. In the 5-seater version, you get a generous 775 liters of boot space, which can expand to a whopping 4,000 liters when you fold down the seats in the Long E-Rifter.

Fresh Appearance and Higher Ground Clearance

The new E-Rifter follows Peugeot's updated design philosophy, featuring a more striking front end with a new emblem and Peugeot's signature three-claw lighting. It's now available in two snazzy colors: Sirkka Green and Kiama Blue. The E-Rifter's charm is enhanced by its increased ground clearance, broad wheel arches, side guards, and roof bars.

Upgraded Interior and Tech

Inside, the E-Rifter showcases a new dashboard with a 10-inch touchscreen display. The seats are wrapped in light grey fabric, and the Zenith roof provides plenty of storage nooks. If you opt for the Emotion trim level, you'll get a brand-new 10-inch digital instrument cluster that includes nifty features like a navigation display and a toasty leather-wrapped steering wheel. Emotion also throws in advanced safety goodies like a tiredness warning, traffic sign reader, lane-keeping assistant, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, speed limiter, a dozen parking sensors, and a 180-degree camera.

Efficient Electric Power

Under the hood, the E-Rifter is still powered by a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor with 270 Nm of torque. What's new is the addition of a heat pump, which helps the 50 kWh battery achieve a range of up to 320 km. When it's time to juice up, you have a couple of options: a 7.4 kW charger or an optional 11 kW three-phase charger, with support for rapid charging at 100 kW DC. Charging from 0 to 80% takes just 30 minutes. Going all the way to 100% using an 11 kW wallbox requires about 5 hours, while a 7.5 kW charger stretches the wait to 7.5 hours. If you're charging via a reinforced household socket, it'll take around 15 hours.

As of now, Peugeot has not yet revealed the pricing and availability details for the spruced-up E-Rifter. So, car enthusiasts will have to stay tuned for more updates on this electric gem.

In Summary

Peugeot has given the E-Rifter a makeover, making it even more stylish and efficient. With its new design, enhanced interior, and improved electric power-train, the E-Rifter is poised to offer an even more exciting driving experience.
