The recently announced VinFast VF7 is the main focus of VinFast's strategic growth initiatives, which are being carried out by the Vietnamese carmaker. Though not yet well-known, VinFast is becoming more well-known for its commitment to producing useful and reasonably priced electric cars.
The new VinFast VF7, which is expected to arrive in the US eventually, is priced in the Southeast Asian nation at around $35,000 (VND850 million), although that doesn't include the high-voltage battery that powers the vehicle. The base trim's initial price increases to around $41,000 (VND999 million) when the battery pack is incorporated.
Situated next to its more sizable siblings, the VF8 and VF9, the VinFast VF7 caters to fans of little electric vehicles. Apart from its smaller size, its pricing is what sets it apart and has drawn the attention of potential purchasers. The tiny crossover EV will be available in Vietnam in two trim levels: Base and Plus. Meanwhile, the American market specifications, which were unveiled at the start of the year, state that the VF7 would be available in Eco or Plus versions.
The VF7 Base is powered by a single electric motor in its native market, producing 174 horsepower (130 kW), which is derived from a battery with a capacity of 59.6 kWh. In the WLTP test, it allows the EV to go up to 233 miles.
The VinFast VF7 is available in two models: Base and Plus. The Base model has a single electric motor that runs on a 59.6 kWh battery pack, producing 130 kW (174 hp) and 250 Nm of torque. With this setup, an impressive 375 km WLTP driving range is achieved. The Plus model, on the other hand, has a twin-motor system that produces an amazing 260 kW (349 horsepower) of four-wheel drive. The range is increased to 431 km with the bigger 75.3 kWh battery pack.
The Base version costs around €37,500 in Vietnam, while the Plus version costs little less than €45,000. Interestingly, VinFast provides a battery leasing option that significantly lowers the initial investment. While there is a monthly lease associated with this, it improves accessibility for a larger pool of potential tenants.
With dimensions of 4.55 m by 1.89 m by 1.64 m and a wheelbase of 2.84 m, the Vinfast VF7 is comparable in size to well-known vehicles such as the Peugeot e-3008 and the Volkswagen ID.4.
The Italian-made VF7's elegant and streamlined form emphasizes VinFast's dedication to superior design and aesthetics.
There is a lot of excitement about the VinFast VF7's impending market debut in Vietnam, where the first deliveries are scheduled for early 2024. The exciting aspect about VinFast's worldwide ambitions outside its local market is that people are keen to see how well this tiny EV performs internationally.
