A Face-Off – Haval H6 HEV Vs. Corolla Cross Hybrid

The car scene in Pakistan is buzzing with excitement, especially when it comes to hybrids and SUVs. Toyota recently introduced its inaugural hybrid model, the Corolla Cross, proudly claiming it to be 50% locally manufactured. But how does it stack up against the Haval H6? This blog aims to shed light on the comparison between these two models, addressing questions about their performance, fuel efficiency, and more.

Haval H6 Vs. Toyota Corolla Cross

Haval, a Chinese automaker, takes the credit for bringing the first hybrid SUV to Pakistan. On the other hand, Toyota, a renowned Japanese manufacturer, needs no introduction. Both the Corolla Cross and H6 fall into the C-category vehicle segment. While the Cross is a compact SUV, the H6 stands out as a larger crossover with similar ground clearance.

Engine and Fuel Economy:

The Cross is equipped with a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engine paired with hybrid technology. In contrast, the H6 boasts a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. Both models showcase efficient hybrid technology, delivering a fuel economy of 18 to 19 Km/L in the city and 14 Km/L on long journeys.

Interior:

Stepping inside both SUVs, you instantly get a premium feel, although they differ in certain aspects. The H6 offers a dual-tone interior with 8-way seat adjustability, featuring heating, ventilation, and lumbar support for both driver and passenger seats. In comparison, the Cross provides Terra Rossa seats with only 6-way adjustability.

In terms of infotainment, the Cross outshines with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with wireless connectivity and 360 sonars. On the other hand, the H6 offers Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera with dynamic guidelines. Notably, the H6 includes an electronic handbrake and auto hold button, features absent in the Toyota Cross.

Exterior:

Both crossovers showcase eye-catching designs adorned with emblems. Haval's front grille, however, stands out as particularly distinctive. The H6 comes with 19-inch multi-spoke rims in piano black with Hankook tires, while the Cross disappoints a bit with older 17-inch tires from General. Both SUVs sport a shark antenna and rear diffusers. The H6 additionally features high-mounted rocket lamps, while the Cross comes with a high-mounted brake light. Furthermore, the H6 boasts a panoramic sunroof, whereas the Toyota Cross features a moonroof.

Safety Features:

Toyota Cross falls short in the safety department, offering only basic Cruise Control. In contrast, the Haval H6 comes packed with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Front Collision Assist, Emergency Braking, Rear Collision Warning, and Auto Park Assist.

Price Comparison:

When it comes to the price, the Toyota Cross and Haval H6 have a 20% difference. The H6 is priced at around PKR 11,800,000 lacs, while the Cross is available at approximately PKR 9,900,000

Conclusion:

Both the Haval H6 and Toyota Corolla Cross have their unique charm and appeal. This comparison aims to provide a comprehensive overview, addressing various aspects of these SUVs.
