Teleport, a startup company incubated in NIC Peshawar has developed an electric bike. The bike is capable of driving 100 km in just one time charging.
The bike is designed and manufactured in Pakistan, the design of this bike is completely original and parts of this bike were bought from the local market, an electric motor is the only thing that was imported due to the unavailability in Pakistan.
The other motor extends the bike range up to 200 km the bike takes 3 hours to charge completely.
In an interview with Waqar Zaka, Teleport founder and CEO Mohyuddin Khan explained how on the basis of his passion for electric mobility, he created the company. Mohyuddin, who is an MBBS student, explained how it took 4 years for him and his team to create the final product, creating 4 prototypes for production along the way. He said that using his own money, which he earned by producing and selling lithium-ion batteries, he built the bike.
Mohyuddin also speaks about his future plans he said that the company was looking for investors to increase the manufacturing. Estimating of around 5 crores would be needed initially Mohyuddin said the bike would cost about Rs 1.5 per unit
